Kaito and Kenou locked an epic battle
I'm very hard pressed to think of "what could they have done better?" for this review. This was a very high level main event match by two highly skilled wrestlers at the top of their game.
Kaito is the young babyface champion. He's athletic. He's got charisma in buckets. He's a handsome young man with silly hair. And he's an excellent professional wrestler. What else could one ask for in a champion? Kenou is a subtle heel. He never breaks the rules, but he projects "bad ass veteran" well.
This match was paced very well. With spots flowing naturally from one to the next, and the hot crowd was into it through out. Nothing took me out of the action even for a moment. At roughly 25 minutes, it felt like it went the right amount of time. The detail in both these men's work was also very impressive. Little things like struggling to lock in a hold that really sell the drama.
I'll admit that I'm not familiar with modern day NOAH at all. A part of the reason for starting this blog was to expand my horizons. So far so good. I enjoyed this match a lot. More than the Wrestle Kingdom matches this year with the possible except of Saber Vs Ishii. It's only two weeks in, Kaito Vs Kenou but is one of my leading match of the year candidates so far. The rest of the show was fun as well. I would recommend it.
